Street Children Volunteer Project Peru

This volunteer in Peru program provides volunteers with an excellent opportunity to work with street children in some of the poorest areas of Cusco. The kids and staff are fantastic and full of energy, which really helps to make this project special! Volunteers have the chance to teach, play and make a positive impact on lives of some of the most disadvantaged children in Peru. This is an excellent project to combine with our Peru Language & culture experience. Taking this language course is a great way to learn some Spanish before you join the project and with all the included trips and tours, it is a unique way to experience the culture! Volunteer Role There are numerous possibilities open to volunteers depending on their individual skills. Activities include helping in the classroom and assisting with a variety of occupational activities. Extra help is also needed to obtain funding and to market the project (the program’s current funding will run out soon). Instructing the children in how to prepare meals and cleaning up afterwards is also a priority of the school. Volunteers are needed to help in the afternoons as the children go to school in the mornings. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact into the lives of children who have had a difficult start in life and to help build their personalities and skills, giving them better prospects in later life. Accommodation & Meals You will share accommodation in one of our student apartments.  The bathrooms are clean and have western-style toilets, showers, and hot water. The accommodation is a 15-minute walk from the centre for street kids. The apartment is centrally located and very near to the main Plaza De Armas, restaurants, clubs, shops and bars. Meals aren’t included during the four weeks volunteer program. Volunteers usually take it in turns to cook their own meals. Food is extremely cheap to buy in Peru. Or you can simply eat out very cheaply in one of the many typical Peruvian restaurants in the area.     Programme Overview Durations:  1 week language course & followed by 4 weeks volunteering  - $1299/€949 2 weeks language course & followed by 4 weeks volunteering - $1579/€1199 3 weeks language course & followed by 4 weeks volunteering - $1849/€1399 4 weeks language course & followed by 4 weeks volunteering - $2129/€1599 How to book & pay: $339/€259 deposit to secure place, balance due 10 weeks before departure.
