If you work as a volunteer in Zimbabwe on this wonderful program, you will have the opportunity to help on a fascinating scheme aimed at releasing lions back into the wild.  You’ll also play an essential role in assisting with the conservation of Victoria Falls National Park, one of Zimbabwe’s most renowned reserve parks.

Project Location

This program is based at the town of Victoria Falls.   You’ll be very close to the tremendous views of the Falls itself and its magnificent thundering waterfall.


Volunteer Role

  • Walk alongside lions as part of the pride and enjoy the exhilaration of being part of a hunt as the young cubs learn to stalk their prey
  • Spend time at the only project for release of lions back to the wild
  • Experience the African bush in a very special way as you spend time out in the Zambezi National Park and Masuwe Big 5 areas
  • Conservation work in the Victoria Falls rain forest
  • Immerse yourself in local Zimbabwean culture
  • Make friends for life with the other volunteers

Programme Summary:
You’ll be part of an exciting program that rears and releases lions back into the wild. You’ll have the privilege of feeding and caring for baby cubs as well as joining them on pride walks as they get used to the bush territories that will eventually be their permanent homes. A unique and essential conservation project in Victoria Falls National Park will be also included in this program.
