For all you sports aficionados out there who like adventure and want a different kind of career sabbatical or Gap Year experience, here is the perfect program.  This trip of a lifetime in this largely unknown corner of southern east Africa is one you’ll remember for a very long time.

Adventure Programme Itinerary

Week 1: PADI Open Water Scuba Course
After settling into your new home near the shores of the Indian Ocean, you will begin your PADI Open Water Course. The warm opaque waters will provide the perfect base for you to learn to scuba dive, before embarking on your open water dives on the “2 mile reef” of the Bazaruto Archipelago.

Week 2: River Canoe Expedition
This week is spent on a navigational challenge, as you negotiate your way down Mozambique's Rio Guvuru in your canoes. You pass through a dramatic variety of terrains including deserts, lush bush and mangrove swamps. With task-orientated activities each day, you can learn as much or as little as you want from our fully qualified local guides.

Week 3: Dhow Boat Expedition
This is one of the most popular and exciting parts of the entire expedition. Using a traditional African Dhow boat, you sail around the pristine white islands of the archipelago, with the opportunity to snorkel and scuba dive amongst the different reefs, spotting hundreds of varieties of tropical fish, dolphins and hopefully the dugong.

Week 4: Football Coaching Community Week
Your final week is spent getting to know the seaside community of Vilanculos. Working specifically with the local football teams, you will organise training sessions and short games, before holding a tournament for the end of your stay. Prizes will be awarded to the best teams and players, giving an extra incentive for the children to play as hard as possible!
