Located around 50 km from the south of Mombasa is the base camp of this Volunteer Kenya program. You will find yourself in a small rural community positioned near mangroves and nestling in costal bush. You’ll find that some of the most rewarding experiences on the Real Kenya Gap Program is the volunteer work helping to assist projects with local Ghanaian communities. The main focus of these programs are on initiatives that educate and benefit local schools and numerous building projects. These are the kind of projects that will bring you life long friends and make you a highly valued contributor to the progress of these local communities.

However to complement your experience with local Ghanaian people, you will also be able to experience the natural wild-life of Ghana too. During this Real Kenya Gap Program you have the chance to participate for four to five days in an elephant sanctuary project.  The aim is to develop initiatives that encourage wildlife projects that will ultimately assist local communities, along side helping to protect the endangered elephant herds of Ghana. It is also a very action-packed four to five day safari experience too!

More Information:
Designed as a sustainable project to help develop the community and working in partnership with the local village, the Real Kenya Gap Program aims to help make immense contributions to the local economy, create more employment for local members of the village, alongside making improvements the local school.

One of the great features of the location of the base camp is that it is located a bumpy four kilometres from the incredible beautiful shoreline beaches of the Indian Ocean.  A separate camp is located there to serve as a base should you wish to: go diving of this stunning coast; and also go sea turtle, dolphin and whale shark spotting. If you are experienced or new to diving, we can arrange the right PADI diving courses that are best suited to your level.
