Gibbon Conservation California
This project is devoted to protecting and breeding the Gibbon. This animal from the South east of Asia is highly endangered and the program aims to establish a secure population of captive animals should attempts fail to conserve the gibbon species in the wild.
The Volunteer Role
Whilst on the project, you’ll learn about the gibbon directly. You’ll also be looking after the rarest and largest species of gibbons in the globe, the Javan (only 2000 of these left in the wild) and the Pileated breeds of Gibbon.

Project LocationBased in Santa Clarita in California
Accommodation and MealsAccommodation is based at the project. You’ll either have your own trailer, or be sharing with another volunteer. You’ll receive three meals daily.

Programme Summary: Giving much valued support helping to preserve a number of endangered breeds of gibbons. You’ll be involved in feeding and caring for them, observing their behavior as well as maintaining and cleaning their enclosures along with helping fundraising campaigns.
