Galapagos Islands Environmental Conservation
This excellent project gives volunteers the chance to take part in conservation and teaching on the Galapagos Islands. Unlike other South America volunteer programmes, this project combines social and conservation volunteer work abroad, offering volunteers a combination of both these experiences.
Volunteer for this programme if you want to get involved in promoting environmental conservation projects in Latin America, but also take part in the actual conservation work too.
This is a valuable volunteer project in the Galapagos, but also a unusual opportunity to travel and work in one of the most remote destinations around the globe - the Galapagos Islands.
Volunteer RoleThe volunteer project utilizes workshops and discussions to promote environmental conservation issues to local people. This involves discussing environmental topics, interactive learning, and through visiting forests.
Volunteers also help with reforestation activities and assist the Floreana giant tortoises scheme too.
Project LocationThe Environmental Conservation programme is situated on the island of Santa Cruz in the town of Puerto Ayo.
Accommodation and MealsVolunteers stay with a local host family who are known by our on-site team and meet their rigorous assessment standards. This allows you the ideal environment in which to experience the ‘real’ Galapagos, and progress your Spanish speaking skills.
You have your own room and shared bathroom, and your family will give you with 2 to 3 meals every day.
