Cultural and Language Experience Peru
One excellent way to begin your time in Latin America is our four weeks cultural and language experience. It's an exhilarating way to learn the language, get to know the local culture and make new friends.
Learning Spanish in PeruVolunteers get a far richer time out of their Peru volunteer project if they have the confidence to speak Spanish. Whether they improve their current language skills or learn Spanish basics for the first time.
This experience gives you a basic grounding in Spanish. Language lessons are carried out in groups with (a maximum of) four students to every group. This means you will get lots of attention and support with learning the language. The classes are fun too, with videos and role-plays.
Experience the Culture in Peru
The Culture and Language Experience in Peru includes loads of excursions and trips for your free time. It is an excellent way to start off a gap year to South America, as it will give you a unique insight to the Peru’s culture whilst learning Spanish.
The trips include two or three activities per week such as cooking class, parties, lectures, city tours, dance class, videos, and trips to museums.
Project Location
The Language school in Peru is situated in Cusco. Please note it takes a couple of days to get used to Cusco’s high altitude (Cusco is 11000 feet above sea level!) - you will find yourself slightly breathless even from leisurely strolls.
Accommodation and Meals
You will be met at the airport by a member of your host family or by Eduardo (Our friendly project rep). Host families' homes usually have two rooms available for volunteers. Volunteers can either stay together or separately. All the homes have a western-style toilet, shower and hot water. You will be given your own key to the front door so you can come and go as you please.
The host family provides three meals daily.
Volunteer in PeruOnce you have mastered the language why not put your new language skills to good use with a volunteer placement? You can add a Bolivia Language School program to a Bolivia volunteer placement of your choice.
